As you will see, we have been winning at top level consistently over the years. We’ve made breed history on more than once occasion and were the UK’s top breeder of Spinoni in 2017 & 2018 which is incredible when you consider how few litters we breed.

"Banksy" is owned in partnership with us and Jan Clark. He lives in Lancashire with her.
He has had a great start to his career - wining Best Puppy and the Puppy Group at his first show (Ashton in Makerfield Premier Open Show) on 5th March 2023. This qualified him for Crufts 2024 at his very first outing.
Since then he has gained his stud book number at only 9 months old by winning the Reserve Dog Challenge Certificate at the May Scottish Kennel Club Show under gundog specialist Lesley Trow.
At Blackpool Championship Show in June 2023 Banksy not only won Best Puppy in Breed under Carole Coode but went on to win the Puppy Group under Mike Gadsby and Reserve Best Puppy in Show under Howard Ogden!
Continuing his success he won the CC at Leeds Championship Show 2023 whilst still a puppy (under breed specialist Phillipa Cotterel) and won the Eukanuba Puppy Stakes overall (under Martin Sanders) beating 250 other puppies. This qualified him for the final - something no other Spinone has ever done.
Banksy obtained his 2nd CC whilst still a puppy at Welsh Kennel Club 2023 under Dr Ron James, where he also obtained Best of Breed - beating his mother.
The all important 3rd CC came at Gundog Society of Wales 2023 under breed expert Nicola Spencer from the world famous Bannonbrig Kennel, who also delivers seminars on the breed.
Amazingly Banksy won the Dog CC and Best of Breed at Crufts 2024 under Sharon Pinkerton. All the more amazing as his sister, Chianti won the Bitch CC.

Born in August 2022 "Chianti" had a good start to her career. Chianti won Puppy Group 3 at her first show on 5th March 2023 (Folkstone and Hythe DCS). She has also won Best Puppy in Show at Winsor Gundog on 5th April (and was also shortlisted for the adult group). She won the Gundog Puppy Group at Reading Premier Open Show at the end of May 2023.
Since then she has gone on to win Best Puppy in Breed at ten Championship Shows and has earned a Puppy Group 2 at Leeds under Lee Cox and 2 Puppy Group 3 awards at other shows.
She was awarded her first CC at the last East of England Championship Show in 2023 by Jeff Horswell, aged only 10 months. Following this with her 2nd CC at Leeds Championship Show under breed specialist Phillipa Cotteral aged only 11 months. Also at Leeds she achieved a shortlist in the main group and Group 2 in the Puppy Group (under Lee Cox).
At Bournemouth Championship show Chianti not only got best puppy in breed she was awarded Puppy Group 1 under Becky Johnson and the went on to win Best Puppy in Show under Robin Newhouse - something that no other Spinone puppy has ever achieved!
Chianti obtained a Reserve CC behind her mother at Welsh Kennel Club 2023 under Dr Ron James and a 2nd Reserve CC at City of Birmingham 2023 under Jenny Miller (where she won the Yearling Bitch stakes under Tan Negrecha). The third reserve CC came from breed expert Nicola Spencer at Gundog Society of Wales and the fourth at South Wales Kennel Club from Jaqui Ward.
Chianti gained her third and all important CC at Crufts in 2024 under Sharon Pinkerton - the same show where her brother was Best of Breed.
Chianti was Top Puppy in 2023.

“Mimi” was Top Puppy in the breed in 2019 and made breed history by becoming the youngest in the breed to gain her Junior Warrant under 9 months old. She has won puppy groups in the UK and Reserve Best Puppy in Show at an all breeds championship show. Not only was she top puppy in Spinoni but she ended up runner up Top Gundog puppy in the UK – something which has never been achieved in the breed before.
She gained her third challenge certificate under a breed specialist (Rita Allum) at Southern Counties 2021 - the first general championship show after lockdown. So far she is up to 12 challenge certificates, 9 of which she won BOB with. She has won group places at Championship Shows (Manchester 2020 and Bournemouth 2021). This is as well as winning an adult group in Romania. She is a Junior Romanian Champion as well as a UK Show Champion.
She qualified for the Eukanuba Championship Stakes final in 2021 by achieving Runner Up overall at Richmond Championship Show. Mimi was also Top Spinone in the UK in 2021.
To date she is the ONLY Italian Spinone to have won Best in Show at a UK Championship show (Gundog Society of Wales 2021 under breed judge Cathy Moores and Best in Show judge Nigel Worth).
Mimi was Top Brood Bitch in 2023.

“Tucci” has won CACIB’s (Certificats d'Aptitude au Championnat International de Beauté) in Italy, Romania and Holland. She is a Romanian Champion as well as a UK one. At the World Show held in Amsterdam in 2018, she beat every other spinone bitch there and thus got her “World Winner” title.

“Franchi”, like her daughter “Mimi” has also won RBPIS at an all breeds championship show. She was Top Spinone Puppy in the UK in 2014 and Top Brood Bitch in 2021.

"Ava" was originally owned in partnership with our good friend Sue Berry and lived in Yorkshire. She showed great promise from 8 weeks old and was destined to be a show dog.
Very sadly Sue passed away from an aggressive brain tumour at a young age. This meant that Ava came back to us.
She lives with us but is owned in partnership with Jan Clark. Jan collected her from Sue when she became ill and made sure that Ava was groomed and in tiptop condition for her first show - where she achieved Reserve CC under breed specialist Nicola Spencer. Indeed, Jan did such a good job that we have granted her an interest in the Affilato affix.
Ava achieved her crowning third CC at City of Birmingham 2022 under breed judge Nigel Worth.
Ava was Top Brown Roan Spinone in 2022.

“Sid” has truly done us proud. He was Top Puppy and Top white/orange male in the breed in 2015. He made breed history by becoming the breed’s youngest ever Show Champion and has been Top Spinone in the UK in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019. Sid is the ONLY spinone to have ever achieved top spinone for four consecutive years.
He is the current breed record holder in the UK with 31 CCs - having gained his latest one at City of Birmingham 2022 under Nigel Worth.

“Perazzi” one of only a handful of Spinoni that we bred that we left undocked. Therefore, she was able to go to Crufts and she certainly did well! She won “best bitch” in 2013 under judge Carole Spencer (Bannonbrig) – a very proud day for us. In 2019, she was the breed’s “Top brood bitch” mainly because she is the mother of our big winning Sh Ch/ Ir Sh Ch Afterglow Hashtag Scandal at Bessalone JW ShCM.

“Peppy” (short for Pepperoni) showed loads of potential as a puppy and we deliberately held on to him until a show home came along. When we were contacted and asked for a show quality puppy for a junior handler, we ummed and aaahed if this was what we wanted. We invited the family over to meet us and Sarah impressed us with her intelligence and enthusiasm. She certainly didn’t let us down – making Peppi into a show champion, winning the RCC at Crufts and winning Group 2 at a general championship show.

“Beretta” was, for a while, the youngest show champion in the breed. She won Best Puppy in Show at Gundog Society of Wales in 2008 and group placings at championship shows. She was Top Spinone bitch in the UK in 2009. Not bad really considering she was the first spinone we ever bred!

“Luca” was Top Spinone puppy in the UK in 2018. Not only did she win many awards in the UK but we took her with us to the World Show in Amsterdam where she won Best Junior in breed at one of the specialities and later, Junior Group 2.

“Cara” deserves to be on this page as she was the foundation of our kennel. While a super shape with a beautiful head, she was far too big and thus, her show career wasn’t overly successful though she did have some lovely class wins. She won the “Bedeslea trophy” at the Italian Spinone Club’s working test for the highest placed spinone in 2007 and 2008. She also won Top HPR at a working test organised by the British Association for Shooting and Conservation.

“Clive” is, quite simply, one of the best brown roans we’ve ever bred. He got his junior warrant easily (his final points were achieved at Crufts where he won his class) and won six RCC’s all under breed specialists.
He is one of only a handful of spinoni who have ever qualified for the Junior Warrant semi finals held at Earls Court, London.

“Lavezzi” deserves to be in our hall of fame. An absolutely beautiful bitch who was really destined to achieve great things after winning two RCC’s under breed specialists. Unfortunately, we entrusted her to the wrong person and her show career was cut short. She was never shown after her junior career. Fortunately, we were later able to use her Champion brother to incorporate this breeding back into our lines.

“Benelli” – his unusual KC name is because his father’s name is “Onion”. We had a whole host of onion themed names ready for this litter but unfortunately, there was just one puppy and Benelli was it. He was never a fan of being in the show ring but still amassed three RCC’s and a CC, BOB and group shortlist at a champ show before we retired him. Aside from siring the UK’s top spinone puppy in the UK in 2018, he has also sired puppies in the USA and Russia which have embarked on successful show careers.
Benelli was UK Top Sire in the breed in 2022 and 2023.
